Berkenhof Butterfly Garden
You can find the Berkenhof Butterfly Garden (Vlindertuin Berkenhof) on the outskirts of a protected nature zone called "the Zwaakseweel" situated in the middle of the Zeeland polders. In this tropical butterfly garden, visitors walk among various tropical plants. In the garden, visitors walk pas extraordinary cactuses, numerous fountains, banana plants and a variety of passion flora.
And let’s not forget the butterflies! In the garden, you can see the whole life cycle of a butterfly. Butterflies lay their eggs on specific plants. The caterpillars eat as much as they can before the pupation. With a bit of good luck, you can even see a small butterfly leaving the pupa!
With its surface of 1400 m2, Berkenhof Butterfly Garden is the largest butterfly garden of the Netherlands.
