Fort Rammekens
Fort Rammekens is a fortress located on the bank of the Westerschelde near Ritthem, a few kilometers away from Vlissingen. The fort is surrounded by a marsh, crickets and a beautiful wooded area where you can take a delightful stroll. Fort Rammekens is the result of a partnership between the forest management agency and the Zeeland maritime museum.
How to get there?
Take the A58, and take the exit ‘Ritthem’ just before Vlissingen. In the Ritthemsestraat, take the second exit towards Ritthem. Turn left at the first corner, and follow the Rammekensweg. Follow the signs ’Fort Rammekens’. There’s no public transportation to the fortress, but it’s a nice trip to cycle there from Vlissingen.
